SAI is open to any female
undergrad student with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. She must also
have or be enrolled in at least one credit of college level music class.
This includes ensembles as well as appreciation classes.
Do I have to be a music major?
No, there is no required major
to join SAI. We ask only for a sincere interest in music and at least one
college level music class.
Do you have to pay dues?
Yes, there are dues every
year. SAI works hard to make sure that these dues are kept to a reasonable
level.
Are there any other fees I have to pay?
During the MIT season, there will special one time fees that are required.
These will never have to be paid again. Some of these fees may include
initiation fees, badge fees, and test fees.
How much of a time commitment is SAI?
During the MIT season, the
MITs will need to attend one weekly meeting, one required study hall, as well as
coming to the first few minutes of the chapters regular meeting.
Does SAI haze?
NO! SAI will never haze! Hazing is defined as any situation
where the required activity makes you feel humiliated or unsafe.
What is a MIT?
MIT stands for Member-In-Training.
As an MIT, what will I be doing?
During your MIT season, you
will be learning how a chapter of SAI operates by setting up a miniature version
of the chapter. This will involve weekly meetings as well as a musical and
a service project. This will be the time when you learn about SAI and the
important aspects of our organization.
This sounds great! How do I get involved?
We'd love to have you come and
join us! In order to be eligible to pledge SAI, you must attend one fall
rush event. For a list of the upcoming events, check the
Current News or look at the
Calendar of events. You will then be invited to attend a required rush
event the first week in January.
